THERE'S LIGHT is a collection of interviews and artworks, showcasing various faces of black male identity; compiled with the aim to inspire the next generation to embrace their selves fully. In a nutshell, the book showcases artwork in collaboration with the writings in the book, as these interviews delve into our psyche, self-perceptions, as well as how our blackness and bodies move within space and the world. I believe that the physical manifestations of these ideas through our work serve as a necessary complement. As our stories and triumphs serve as a gallery, a monument to us, the pages follow suit as a literal gallery showing.
