Overview
A young noble woman awakes following a terrible illness, hundreds of miles away from her native France, with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Measles has spread through eleventh-century France. The country is in turmoil. Death is everywhere. Secluded behind a rock by her guardian, the young woman is accidentally found by a group of trading Vikings. Their leader, Thord, takes pity on the girl and takes her to his island.
