It is 1983, and the skyrocketing prices of photographic artworks are causing scholars and speculators to rediscover many forgotten artists. Much to the chagrin of art student Janice Gibson, one of these artists is J.W. Wheeler, who dropped out of sight after her grandmother divorced him for in?delity in 1946.
