River of Fire is an incredible read. It is historically accurate; that was important to me, as the true story is more compelling than fiction. The way that Nancy Gentry weaves the personal stories of her major characters throughout the novel makes it a compelling story. River of Fire makes the story come alive and leaves the reader with a better understanding of the horror of the Sultana tragedy--Back cover.
