Muhammad ‘Abduh : Modern Islam and the Culture of Ambiguity

Oliver Scharbrodt challenges the perception in academic scholarship - and among Muslim reformers of the 20th century - that searched for intellectual coherence and biographical consistency in 'Abduh's life.
