The Thracian City of Seuthopolis

The discovery of the Thracian city of Seuthopolis is the most important achievement of Thracian archaeology in the last 30 years in Bulgaria. The city was discovered during the digging undertaken in connection with the cons-truction of th.e large Georgi Dimi trov Dam on the Ri ver Toundja, the ancient Tonsos, 8 km west of the modern town of Kazanluk.
