The first words in the crudely bound black journal were ... My name is Timothy Conan Moran. These words were faded, but appeared to be printed by a child. They were accompanied by a date; October 13, 1857. This journal was a rare find for the Taggat family in the summer of 1988. This would begin a ten year search into the lives of those early pioneers that now inhabit the graves in the Teasdale Cemetery. Katie Taggat was certain that Timothy Conan Moran was one of those buried in the Teasdale Cemetery. This was unlikely, since his name was not on one of the tombstones. Not only that, but the opening chapter begins with an Irish lass named Meagan Farley in a city near Dublin, Ireland. In essence, this sixth book in the Fruit of the Spirit series is two novels in one. Still, it is written with the Dismal River as a part of the title. The two novels are intertwined, but any changes in the eighteenth century (the past) and the nineteenth century (the present) is determined only by chapter headings. The very character of mankind has not changed since the first century when the Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians chapter five of the conflict of man in the 'works of the flesh' and the blessings afforded to man in the 'fruit of the spirit'. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
