Her majesty the queen's decision took the most excellent economist into the dense equatorial forest, to work as a colonial administrator in the British Cameroes. With the death of his parents and wife, Hamilton's only son accompanied him. Jones witnessed his father's burial at the age of nine in the hot sand of the Gulf of Guinea. He integrated himself and earned love and hospitability from the African natives. He ran away from the Cameroes, hoping to go back to England. He later met Lyonga a native whose family adopted him. His adopted family moved further into the jungle of the Dark Continent. He joined local cults, became a sooth sayer, got married and consequently, ruled the people of the jungle. But uneasy lies the head that rules.
