Sister Mary, the Bad Habit: "Liberating Theology" takes our nun to South America where she confronts a corrupt dictator and his cocaine cartel partner. Between the two, the poor are continually oppressed by the rich and powerful. Death squads roam the land, "disappearing" anyone who challenges the iron fisted ruler. Priests, nuns and lay people, anyone who calls for freedom, is subject to death. There are however, valiant freedom fighters battling the tyrants. Sister Mary's mission is to bring the warring sides to the peace table - a difficult task when caught up in the hatred and distrust of years of oppression. Even the Catholic Church is not immune from the civil strife. The clergy is forced to choose between the power, prestige and possessions of the rich, and a preferential option for the poor. Our nun struggles to reunite the divided church - without resorting to violence. It takes all of Sister Mary's skills to infiltrate the opposing forces and it takes all her faith to survive one crisis and close call after another.
