Today Delight has taken special care in the way she dresses. She knows every detail has to be carefully looked at, so as not to disappoint her mother. When her mother was a teenager she cut her leg on a machete and the cut never healed quite right. So Delight's mother doesn't get out much and is all but confined to a wheelchair. When her mother does get a visitor, she inspects the visitor with ex ray precision. Not intending to be critical but just observant. It's her way of being sociable. Delight is bringing with her a gingerbread. It's one of her mother's favorite sweets. Too many sweets is another reason for her mother's lack of mobility. And during their last conversation Delight had tried to motivate her mother to give up sweets. Delight had committed to a fast with her church for a week. During the fast Delight was to give up sweets. She felt combined energy with the other fasters helping her overcome the powerful stronghold of sweets. Delight was so excited she phoned her mother to connect her with this powerful energy. She prayed with her mother and felt sure the energy had the power to connect with her too. Delight's mother was happy for the prayer. And she added how she had cut back on many sweets. But she asked if this would interfere with Delight bringing her the gingerbread she had promised. Because we all need some sugar she said. Delight assured her if the bakery where she shops has gingerbread, she would get one for her. So when Delight reaches her mother's home and she is not there, she is confused. Her mother told her she was getting a ride to the bank. But Delight thought surely she would have returned by now. Delight phoned her mother's mobile phone. No answer. She phoned the niece who was driving her mother to the bank. No answer. She phoned her mother's sister. No answer. She phoned another of her mother's sisters who was not wanting to have the gingerbread left with her. But her daughter provided Delight with other relative's phone numb
