Sweet Garaiina Apo is a contemporary story based on the ever changing scene in the rapidly developing country of Papua New Guinea. It is based on a family tragedy where the mother contracts HIV and Aids. In her dying wish she worries about a child that she gave away immediately after it was born, to hide away her infidelity. She was married to a European and the baby was totally black. The child that she came out of the hospital with is a mixed race but was not the one she delivered. This grown up girl is now tasked to find the black one. It can cause trouble for her. In the millieu of urban Port Moresby, she has to find that girl and she has a name only to look up on.
