The Apostolic Church For Students

What is an apostle? You have all heard the term. You have heard of people claiming to be apostles. You have probably heard about the Apostolic Ministry and the Apostolic Office. You often read about it in magazines. But, what is it? Is there still such a thing as the apostle? Have they not all died out already? If there are apostles, how would you recognize one? We need to know what is the genuine and what is not the genuine. We need to be able to identify what is of God and what is not of God. We need to be able to test those who claim to be apostles. The apostle's ministry was established by Christ and has never been discontinued. If there are still evangelists, pastors and teachers, then there are still apostles. Jesus never removed apostles from His Church. If the New Testament Church is to be effective and successful in making disciples of Jesus Christ and completing the Great Commission, then we must allow the Holy Spirit to set it in divine order. The Holy Spirit is our teacher who gives us revelation of apostolic ascension gifts along with an understanding of their function, operation, and impact on the local church. APOSTLES IN THE WORD The most prominent gifts in the early New Testament Church were apostles, and in the last days, it will be the same. Nowhere in the New Testament will you find a pastor pioneering a local church. Their vocation is important to Christ's Church and our lives. In this lesson we will study the apostles in the Word and the sovereign calling of apostles by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
