My Positive Face Of Disfigurement:: A True Story

I was born with a very rare medical condition known as a Vascular Anomaly causing a severe disfigurement to the right side of my head, face, eye and mouth. Through the years I have had to cope with rudeness of people constantly staring, calling me names and worst of all, intimidation. Life was hard and I felt lost and lonely. Several attempts at chatting up girls ended by me giving up all hope of ever meeting someone special, someone who would care for me and treat me as a normal human being, but then just by fate, I happened to go to a party and came across that special someone.With the help of my very dear wife, family, friends and a wonderful charity called "Changing Faces" I began to gain a strength within myself, a strength that gave me the ability to stand out from the crowd to give talks about my life, being involved in media campaigns, and by telling others how the organisation enables people like myself to gain self-confidence.This is a story about happiness and sadness, but also tells of a life I imagined would never happen!
