Mountain Echoes

Three young people explore the San Gabriel Mountains, but what they find is not what they expect. Brandon Lanquist, a budding star in the UCLA geology department, has a repressed memory that is gnawing at his soul. He choses to explore the earth's past but Darcy, his graduate assistant, would refocus his attention. Derek, a teenager with dreams of riches, would eventually discover a special kind of treasure. Trying to predict the next major earthquake they discover the ruined vestiges of a brilliant inventors shattered dreams. The life Thaddeus Lowe seems to emerge before their eyes. As they solve a century old murder, they confront a dangerous modern day crime of violence and greed. But there is something else that is slowly revealed, and that something is themselves. The echoes of the past begin to make sense in the present. The mountains hold the promise of enlightenment, the hope of forgiveness and the unexpected thrill of romance.
