How Heaven Works

Javier and Sara are two teenagers growing up in two completely different worlds in Southern California. Sara, fourteen years old, is a fresh face at Pierce High School in trendy Orange County. Javier, thirteen and a skilled player on the public courts in basketball, runs around East Los Angeles, dodging gangs, shootings, and turf wars. When both of them lose the people that were their guiding lights in life they struggle to find meaning and goodness in the world and turn away from their faith. Little do they know those they've lost have not gone far and are just around the corner battling demons and evil forces to protect them.
