We Take On The Orlando Science Center: By Mrs Wilson And Her Fifth Grade Class

Classroom tutor Jolyn Joslin (Tutors for Kids Program) and 5th grade teacher Kristen Wilson used cellphone cameras to chronicle the Stanton-Weirsdale (Weirsdale, FL) class trip to the Orlando Science Center. Each of the students wrote about their favorite parts of the trip. Ms. Joslin and her husband Steve Burt, a Create Space print-on-demand instructor for senior adults, combined their technical expertise to put together and publish the book The couple's 2016 manual, Publish Your Book Free: Step-By-Step Beginner's Guide to CREATE SPACE Print-on-Demand Publishing, won a 2017 Florida Book Festival Award (silver) for Best How-to Book. Their neighborhood contributed enough to pay for enough copies for all the students to get one. Then they held a classroom autograph party and turned the kids loose with a variety of colored pens.
