March 18, 2006, at 1 p.m., the presenter of the news of a large chain announced on the screens that the Dean of the French people was a Corsican to 106 years, living in a small village in the South of Corsica. The man called Joseph Bonaventure. This information, which is slight for the Hexagon, was no longer important to the island of beauty. For local television, it was an interesting information that appropriate to deepen. The drafting of the regional television set up a team to investigate this very interesting topic. The first investigations were launched. Contacts were tempted but all attempts remained dead letters. The subject was therefore left aside. But a young journalist obtained the authorization to continue the investigations. She said all the information gathered and found an interesting trail. She went to the headquarters of the Association of the Corsican Small Landowners, which Joseph Bonaventure was a part. But it was nicely renewed. She insisted, but she was repressed and began to wonder why. Who were these owners? She directed his investigation on the members of this association and sick looking for, eventually, find the list of its members. The journalist knew she stood an interesting topic. But he should be careful because she might have to be intimidated. Not to say threats. But the lure of the scoop was too strong. She continued his research, multiplying his investigations. She thought she could keep the way of approaching Joseph Bonaventure but those she was trying to contact manifested. But his determination eventually paid off and managed to get an appointment with Joseph Bonaventure. This latter was in a nursing home and agreed to tell him the story of his family, the family of Bonaventure, and the lives of his four brothers, mixed with actors Corsicans who made the columns of the facts or of many newspapers, since the beginning of the 20th century until beginning of the 21St century. It was the story of what is called the Corsican Union.
