Scrambled Eggs

This book deals with the trials of an elderly couple who have a Saturday egg route to customers in a small West Texas town. The old pickup loaded with fresh brown eggs heads toward town when they are hit by a tanker and total the old truck. Martha, Hiram's wife, has a broken arm and Hiram has to have the jaws of life rescue him from the driver's seat. Their daughter, Julie, and her husband, Daryl, try to help them in any way they can. Hiram the impatient person he was wnted a replacement truck immediately and saw one on a used cqar lot with a for sale sign of $500.00. Hiram said he would buy it if they would come down to $350.00. The car lot grabbed at that amount because the truck was a black and white striped one that had been used at a petting zoo in Oak Creek. The zebra, as the truck was csalled, had seen better days...
