Overview

At an early age I developed a fierce love for all sports. I attended numerous professional sporting events as a young man, and these experiences, along with my family, inspired me to try to become the best possible athlete in baseball, football, golf, bowling, and more. The Best recounts some experiences I had along my journey towards becoming a D1 NCAA athlete. I also recount some "dark years" in high school, and my conversion to belief in Jesus Christ at the beginning of my senior year. Some highlights of The Best retell my personal encounters with well-known athletes, like MLB Hall of Fame baseball player Mickey Mantle and PGA Hall of Fame golfer and personal friend Payne Stewart. You'll read stories about how I was recruited by major universities and how I met and learned from Hall of Fame coaches and players like Frank Broyles, Dick Vermeil, John Wooden, Barry Switzer and Bill Walton. I also fondly recount playing against legendary golfer Payne Stewart and defeating him my senior year in high school. I hope you find The Best to be humorous and entertaining.
