Elisabeth's mother dies a tragic death. Shortly thereafter, her father mysteriously disappears and is never found. Immediately, after this, Elisabeth is placed in an all girl orphanage. She is only three years old at the time. Poor Elisabeth! not only is her whole world completely torn apart, but, also, fifteen years later, after finally being released from the orphanage, she must try to find herself and love in a cold, unfamiliarly strange, socially bias, and dangerous world. Adding to Elisabeth's many challenges, is the indisputable fact, that due to her relative innocence and previously sheltered life experience, she is quickly exploited and taken advantage of. Making matters even more difficult, she becomes romantically involved with a boy named Randall, who is from the other side of the tracks so to speak... a person, who, according to standards of society, is totally unacceptable. Facing betrayal, hatred, and ostracism, coming from external forces, surrounding them from all sides, Elisabeth, together with Randall, must fight to keep their love alive.
