John Lars Zwerenz' first full fledged novella is a cohesive no punch pulled dark emotional work of potent fiction. The young, American protagonist, a James Asher, Junior, is invited to stay at his cousin's creepy mansion in Wiltshire, England, and encounters terrifying experiences, one more harrowing than the preceding ones. The overall effect of the novel is a sense of an all encompassing, ever encircling ring of hell imprinting on the mind of the reader an unforgettable impression. 5 Stars.
