I am the shadow of Renaissance is a book that tells of a young African American male struggle, while coping with the negative consequences of his' discharge from the United States Marines, with illegal substances, abusive relationships, and his' daily life living as a modern-day Frankenstein. Frankenstein is his' avatar or rather his' view from the inside looking outward, at how the world will view him if they really knew how he became Frankenstein, and the constant fear of being ousted by someone's malice. At his' lowest point, while homeless, separated from friends, family, jobless, and behind bars he reconnected with his' inner spiritual self. The author looked at his' reflection, to ask those difficult questions, distanced himself forever from Frankenstein, and finding the voice that spoke I am the shadow of Renaissance.
