Scared To Death: A Ray Jansen And Lexi Taylor Mystery

Midnight: 3 people are murdered at the building where detective Ray Jansen and his secretary, Lexi Taylor, work. A janitor there, Mike Bell, hears the gunshots and runs from the building in terror. Hoping that the darkness of the wooded area behind the parking lot will hide him he slips and slides through the heavy rain till he falls into a water-filled ditch. Scared to death, he waits. . .It seems like an eternity till someone pulls him to safety. At he hospital he can;t move or talk. Why? There are no witnesses, no fingerprints, no DNA, only one clue: a packet of cocaine. Is this a drug deal gone wrong as the police think? As Mike recovers he remembers a couple dressed like people from the "roaring twenties." Are they connected to the crime?As all this is going on Lexi is feeling sad because it is her dead fiance's birthday and Ray questions her love for him.
