Let's Start with the Kids

Nearly 1.7 million children in the United States have a parent in prison. Parental incarceration often leaves children with feelings of confusion, abandonment, anger, and sadness. They feel vulnerable, frequently blame themselves, and are afraid to talk to others about their missing parent. There are, however, various interventions that can foster resiliency in these children.
