Mr.Yuan Ying Lin was born in 1910 the last year of Ching Dynasty. He grew up in the northeast China and went to the training college hosted by KMT, the ruling party of the China. He graduated and became a teacher and instructor afterwords. Faced invasion of Japanese army he led a group of students to the far west of inner-land to survive the war. Late on he lived in Chong qing the temporary capital of wartime China for 10 years and was appointed to mid level official of the government. After war Mr. Yuan decided to leave the government and became a businessman. Not too long that the CCP overrun the KMT and in 1950 Mr. Yuan was arrested and put in prison and labor campus until 1975. when Mr. Yuan supported himself as a factory worker and eventually was picked up by CCP Dept. of United Front line and he was asked to work on affair of Taiwan and so called Unification of China, since many his relatives and friends are in Taiwan and overseas. Mr. Yuan had his reunion with his daughter and family in the US and traveled to America four times. Eventually he choose to stay in the US when there was a chance after June 4th 1989 incident the US government granted many Chinese legal status. Mr. Yuan lived a full life and died at the age of 97. In the Memoir that was written during his later years Mr. Yuan outlined his life in dramatic years before and after 1949, especially his many up and down toss and suffering and painful lost during the labor campus years. It is a memoir of a century and ever changing China.
