Beyond Broken - A Novel

I found this stone while walking on the beach in Wellfleeton Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It had what I thought was aninteresting stripe, but what turned out to be a fissure, dividingit into two separate pieces. Yet, it was sitting there as if whole.What caught my eye was the shadow the pieces cast: seamless,appearing solid. I am like that rock, I thought, broken, but beyond broken. In thefissure lies my fragile, beautiful truth.
