Micheal Hopkins a one-time hippie in the 60¿s and a Combat Medic in Vietnam from 1969-71. His poetry in some ways echo's his time in the jungles with themes of Duty Honor and Integrity. Micheal believes that all men have honor and sense of duty but some lack the integrity to live up to the responsibility necessary to carry through in the end. Maybe like The Ancient Warrior the author is just a dinosaur out of time.Poems by Micheal are Mythical, Medieval, and Romantic poetry. They tell the story of one warrior who over his lifetimes has followed a quest given by the gods as punishment yet also a reward to find Loves Lost Tear. He can only know complete peace and rest when Loves Lost Tear is found. In his quest, he knows love but briefly he knows pain, fear, and loss intimately. His one true love is seen both as comfort and curse, a source of joy and pain, the reason to defy the gods, and carry his battle to the very gates of hell and eternity.
