Fan Into Flame: Embrace God's Purpose, Discover God's Provisions

In 2 Timothy 1:6, the apostle Paul wrote to Timothy from prison, saying, "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands." (NIV) Paul was encouraging Timothy to use the gifts that God had given him of leading the church and preaching effectively. Not using our gifts will cause the flames to eventually go out. However, if there is a glimpse of embers, you can rekindle it by continuously fanning the wood to increase the oxygen until the flames are burning again. You can potentially change the eternal destiny of those who do not know Christ and strengthen the faith of those who need inspiration and encouragement. God has given each of us a platform by which we may impact a group of people through the gifts He has given us.
