It Starts with Me : One Mom's Journey to End the Pattern of Generational Trauma

Carmin Caterina is a former school-based, NYC speech language pathologist who turned her love of helping others find their voice into something deeper. Using the tools that helped her get through a violent and traumatic life, she helps women transform into the best versions of themselves not only for themselves but also for their own daughters. Because she didn't have a lot of support or direction growing up, Carmin had to gauge what healthy behavior looked like between what she watched on television and what she saw modeled in her friends' homes. She always had a love and desire to work with children and protect them, so she focused her career on education and healthcare-specifically speech language pathology-to help others find their voice in a very literal way. This career took on greater meaning when she created a curriculum specifically to empower young girls. This is how her organization, Lessons For My Daughters, was born. As she has expanded as a healer and coach, Carmin's services became more and more sought-after by women for themselves. This inspired her to document her own story in this book and led her to create her signature program: Embodiment: 45 days to Peace + Pleasure + Grace, a transformational journey for women that encompasses many of the tools she used in her own healing journey. Carmin is a teacher, coach, speaker, and Reiki master. She lives in her dream home in Long Beach, NY, with her partner, Tommy, their two daughters, and their cat, Fudge. Her love of the beach has inspired her to create seashell art in her spare time.
