One Day in May : A Memoir of My Spiritual Journey Through Lung Cancer

The shock of being diagnosed with lung cancer sent me searching for a way to confront my mortality, and in so doing, gain a greater comprehension of my relationship with Jesus Christ. The path I took was to put my deepest and sometimes darkest feelings and thoughts on paper. As I went through each stage of my delicate and complex lung surgery to remove my lower right lobe, and long recovery, this path led me to seek guidance from Scripture each day. The passages I read helped me to interpret my feelings and emotions and make sense of my serious situation in the face of my faith, while bringing me to a realization of the gifts that cancer allowed me to receive to recover and heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
