The first thing that I want to say about modes is that Modes are not a difficult concept. What they are is a very difficult concept to explain. Once it clicks, you'll not believe how simple and easily applicable an idea they are. That's not to say it won't take some work. There are no ludicrous, "One neat trick." BS promises in here but anyone can understand modes and learn to apply them in any key anywhere on the neck. Twenty years or so ago when I was trying to get to grips with Modes, concepts of keys, key signatures, different scale shapes, multiple scale positions and lots more created so much noise that I couldn't see the simple answers in front of me. Nowadays it's probably even more confusing for inexperienced players with so much misinformation online and so many people showing off on YouTube thinly veiled as teaching before they really understand what they are talking about. By the end of this book you will understand what modes are, the unique combination of intervals that gives each mode its distinctive flavour, how they are formed and how you can play them in any key anywhere on the neck.
