The Bible implies that intelligence existed prior to matter, which includes humanity, and suggests further that our consciousness continues once our physical life is over. Life and consciousness are therefore independent energies, they are separable parts of the universe. This Biblical view offers good grounding to the more modern biocentric theory on the separation of mind and spirit by explaining that Jesus was "the word made flesh that lived among us." (John 1: 14) Words therefore came first, or intelligence at least, followed by our rough humanity that must spend time searching through the labyrinth of spiritual terminology in order to live amongst a universal consciousness that was around long before we were? Spiritual consciousness is found only by placing all the right words in the right order, and having them delivered to the centre of your heart and mind. There is simply no other way. Words, like musical notes, must be played out in the right order to make sense of the universe around us, and how we can play out our part within it. Lost For Words details how we as a human concern desperately need the Bible as our primary narrative voice. The Bible compares words to seeds that have the ability to grow if they are sown in the correct soil, as in Biblical words planted in the correct ear spiritual growth can take place. The Spirit of Truth becomes alive within us when we feed on the right narrative. We begin to see the separation of the flesh and the spirit, just like biocentrism explains. Describing Biblical words as "alive" tells us that the Bible has a power inherent to itself, a living organism that connects the word and our inner spirit as one. In his first book, "Lost For Words" Graham Hevey focuses on his earlier life threatening self-willed attitude that hindered his recovery from addiction. For years he believed the answers for sobriety would be found in therapeutic narratives discovered within the annals of our libraries and universities. From Freud and Jung to Darwin and Marx Graham looks at how the wrong narratives caused total mayhem in his life. Reading in hope of developing a more wholesome character and away from deprivation was his ultimate undoing. Gripping hold of the wrong books spilling words into his mind caused nothing more than frustration and despair. Once these narratives were recognised for their true value alone, and replaced with the Bible, Graham's life changed and he became a testimony to the living active power of the Scriptures, and the original 12 step programme. The Bible is unlike Freud, Marx or Darwin, regardless of the adoration that they may produce in some people. The consequences of such narratives are not everlasting, they become stale and die off, regarding spiritual growth that is. The Bible on the other hand brings about enduring and endless supernatural changes within a person, which all the other narratives fail to do. The Bible plays out at a much higher strata. Over the last few decades many Christian writers have developed a distinctive voice, a means of articulating themselves through a stream of consciousness, of explaining how the 12 steps worked first, followed by the Bible. Graham Hevey is one of those writers, he fits this description perfectly. Through the years Graham has made significant progress in understanding the complex state of addiction and obsessive thinking, and details how reading and listening to the correct supernatural voice gives absolute release from such things.
