The Diasporic Testament

The Diasporic Testament is a group of narrative poems that take their core origin story from Biblical characters. The poems are snapshot retellings that use common biblical tropes and cultural references ranging across time periods and continents to achieve an experience that can be appreciated by religious and non-religious audiences alike. From 1920's America to Nazi-occupied Poland, this collection imagines a female voice that is usually absent in original texts while still tackling some of the major male figures of the Bible. These poems seek to address modern social issues with a hint of satire while simultaneously refusing to sacrifice the seriousness of the themes involved.
