Highshield: Book 1

Rendiran, a young priest to a Dragon Goddess, must take responsibility for a child who is resurrected. He returns to life with a message; that he is to become a great Paladin and serve the faith as it undergoes an age of change and growing power. He discovers that trustworthy people are difficult to find as he is sent on a journey with the boy across the countryside amidst political and religious upheaval.
