"A Small Village in the Austrian Alps" is a book about some small village in the Alps-its possibilities and its realities. This exploration also opens up a view of universality: there are many villages in the Alps; I describe one, but it could just as well be any of the others, as they all share certain characteristics. I write about the landscape, the way of life, local customs, and practiced animal welfare. I have also sought to convey the significance of small villages for the overall economy and way of life.
