This study examines journalism ethics and practices in Nigeria, aiming to identify challenges and opportunities for enhancing ethical journalism. Using a qualitative methodology, including literature review and comparative analysis with Britain and the USA, it evaluates ethical practices through Aristotle's 'Golden Mean.' Findings show that while global ethical principles are acknowledged, their application varies. Nigeria faces ethical challenges like ownership influences, government control, and frequent violations. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) often prioritizes national interest over independent journalism. Recommendations include comprehensive ethics training for journalists, stronger regulatory frameworks, and promoting independent journalism to foster a responsible media landscape in Nigeria and beyond.
