An Empirical Analysis on Women Empowerment

This book elaborates a detailed study on the progress of SHGs in India, Andhra Pradesh and in particular at East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh state. Region-wise and Agency-wise performance of SHGs are interpreted in the study. NPAs (Non-Performing Assets) of SHGs in India are also highlighted in this book. The SHGs in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh state are classified into two units namely: District Project Management Unit (DPMU) and Tribal Project Management Unit (TPMU). Under DPMU, there are 51 mandals and for the present study, 12 mandals are taken into consideration which is approximately about 24percent of the mandals.
