The role of aids on the populace of a developing country like Nigeria cannot be overlooked. Households and other local entities require all forms of assistance to meet several of their basic needs. Conversely, the impact of all the aids received from foreign bodies on households and nonprofit institutions serving households in Nigeria is not yet clear. Therefore, we seek to x-ray a factor of aids {Net Official Development Assistance and Official Aid Received (NAID)} and its effects on an indicator of poverty {Households and NPISHs Final Consumption Expenditure (HNFC)} in Nigeria. Time series was adopted and we relied on secondary sources of data. Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) unit root test was used to ascertain the stability of the data in order to avoid bogus results. The long run relationship among the variables was further tested via Johansen co- integration test. The simple regression model equation was adopted for the research work. It revealed that NAID has a positive and significant effect on HNFC. Thus, it is recommended that Nigeria should adopt measures to encourage the inflows of foreign aid to the country.
