Ergonomics

Ergonomics involves examining how to align job tasks and workplace conditions with the worker to enhance productivity, quality, and output, while reducing the risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), fatigue, and overexertion. Evaluating each job is essential and should take into account both physical and psychosocial elements that influence ergonomic results. Typically, a primary care clinician begins the assessment in response to the aforementioned common complaints. When managed effectively, job satisfaction improves, and the majority of patients resume their normal work routines. Naturally, modifications can be made based on a patient's evolving employment status, which may be influenced by prior results.
