Proposal for a Hearing Loss Prevention Program for Musicians

Hearing is one of the most important senses for human beings, and its functioning is interconnected with their productivity, which is no different for musicians, since it is of paramount importance for the quality of their work and permanence in their careers. The development of a hearing loss prevention program aims to change musicians' behavior in relation to their hearing, since they are constantly exposed to high sound pressure levels and irreversible damage. However, if preventive measures are not carried out correctly, musicians' exposure to high sound intensity can cause damage to their health, some of which is irreversible, such as High Sound Pressure Level Induced Hearing Loss (HLIPHL) or Music-Induced Hearing Loss (MIHL). There is a need for preventive measures and the inclusion of musicians in a Hearing Loss Prevention Program (HLPP) in order to provide them with better quality of life and work conditions, since they need their hearing to effectively perform their activities and remain in the job market as a musician.
