"The author of this book, Wang Jibing, is a delivery person who has traveled a total of 150000 kilometers, equivalent to running 15 round trips along the Great Wall. During his days shuttling through the city, he saw more people like him struggling for survival, such as delivery drivers, migrant workers, cleaners, and nannies. They hurriedly and anxiously ran around, but lost their identity: they couldn't find a place to settle in the city, and their hometown and parents were constantly drifting away. Like a wandering poet from the lower echelons of China, Wang Jibing records his own and their struggles, as well as his pride as a laborer. He wrote: I also have my own independent kingdom, my boiling blood is my flowing river, my rugged bones are my towering mountains and rivers. These poems written on cigarette packs and discarded newspapers during rush hour are folk songs from the labor scene, full of vitality, rough and sharp. Some were accidentally uploaded online, triggering unexpected resonance, with a single poem read by up to 20 million people.
