Every Muslim should have a complete understanding of his religion. The most important source of religious awareness and faith education of the people is the Holy Quran. Sermons, speeches, statements, reform books are all useful in their own place, but none of them can replace the Quran. Whether the Holy Quran is read aloud, memorized or read through translation and commentary, each method has its own importance and its own reward. In every era, the need and importance of a suitable and appropriate translation of the Quran has been felt and translators have paid special attention to fulfilling this duty, hence it has been translated in almost all languages by various scholars around the globe. The present Urdu translation is by a lesser known Pakistani scholar, Meer Mohammed Ishaq.
