Thiong'o ki do KahaniyaaN: (Two Short Stories of Thiong'o)

Ngugi wa Thiong'o was a Kenyan author and academic, who has been described as East Africa's leading novelist and an important figure in modern African literature. He wrote primarily in English before switching to writing primarily in Gikuyu and becoming a strong advocate for literature written in native African languages. His works include novels such as the celebrated novel The River Between, plays, short stories, memoirs, children's literature and essays ranging from literary to social criticism. Two of his short stories are presented in this book compiled by Aijaz Ubaid./نگوگی وا تھیونگو کینیائی ادیب اور ماہرِ تعلیم رہے ہیں، جنہیں مشرقی افریقا کے نمایاں ترین ناول نگاروں میں شمار کیا جاتا ہے اور جدید افریقی ادب کی اہم شخصیت مانا جاتا ہے۔ نگوگی نے ابتدائی طور پر انگریزی زبان میں لکھنا شروع کیا، بعد ازاں اپنی مادری زبان گیکویو کو ترجیح دی اور افریقی مقامی زبانوں میں ادب نویسی کے حامی علمبردار بن گئے۔ انہوں نے ناول، ڈرامے، افسانے اور ادبی و سماجی تنقید پر مبنی مضامین کے علاوہ بچوں کے لیے ادب بھی تخلیق کیا۔ ان کی ایک کہانی "سیدھا کھڑا ہونے کا انقلاب انسان دو پیروں پر کیسے چلے" کو دنیا کی 100 سے زائد زبانوں میں ترجمہ کیا جا چکا ہے۔
