The Bends

The Bends is a collection of various poetry that span a 16-year period, starting when I was 17 years old. Some of it isn't great, some I cut because I wasn't ready to share it yet, but some I love. This chapbook is about giving myself grace, accepting the good and bad, even in writing, and letting it see outside the documents of my computer.I think, while evaluating the contents of the book, my favorites tend to be Howling Moons and Neon Nights, I'm Fine, The Bends, Ghosts and Squatters and When Did I Stop Making Shampoo Mohawks. When it comes to poetry, I've performed at the Columbus Arts Festival and been published in various places here and there, but nothing major. I decided it was time to share these-even if nobody finds them or reads them.
