This groundbreaking book, based on serious research, is the first book to clearly show that there is a distinct parallel between the seven lower sephiroth of the Kabbalah and the seven primary chakras of Yoga. This information is hiding in plain sight, scattered amongst the writing of such books as the Bahir and the Zohar. The key teachings of the early Kabbalah make it clear that both humankind and the complete Zeir Anpin (a revealed form of God) are essentially sevenfold regarding their metaphysical and spiritual structure. Although of a different culture, this sevenfold kabbalistic teaching matches very closely with the sevenfold system of Yoga. The Zohar describes humankind as having seven centres or "crowns." It also describes how the priests carried out their religious rituals and activated their own seven crowns (sephiroth) which gave them the ability to connect fully with the Shekinah or Divine Presence of God. Currently in Kabbalah, the importance of the spine is rarely mentioned, except in fragments of folklore. This book clearly reveals that there is a serious teaching on the importance of the spine and its associated seven centres or crowns found in kabbalistic texts. This is similar to the concepts of Yoga. My hope is that the information in this book will encourage other students of Kabbalah to research further and expand on what this book reveals. This could lead to more enhanced kabbalistic meditations that will be more practical and effective in raising spiritual consciousness.
