For the sake of my own well-being, I took a leap of faith to leave a 20-year relationship, because I was guided by angels and God, my Holy Father to do so.I hadn't connected with either for a long time, but they suddenly made themselves known to me via a series of strange synchronicities that were difficult to ignore.Because of them, I came to realise that I was the victim of silent abuse; two decades of psychological torment that fuelled fear, anxiety, and lack of self-worth. Leaving was probably one of the most terrifying things I have ever done; I was middle-aged, jobless, broke, and living in a country where I couldn't speak the language: but I did it anyway, I took the leap.
