Evil Lurks In Darkness

Elizabeth 'Babs' Montgomery is a deputy with the Wamego County Sheriff's Department, and is the only female deputy the sheriff's department has. When a murder suspect is freed on a technically, the whole force is angry, and then when Babs comes upon two men trying to kill the suspect and steps in and tries to stop it, she is helped by Detective Arran Hanlon who had been standing in the shadows just watching. Babs brings him up on charges of Failure to Render Aid, and gets him suspended.Babs had found the body and now felt a responsibility to the victim and her family to find the killer and get justice, but to do so, she has to form an alliance with the man she had gotten suspended, a man with a past and someone she really didn't trust, but all of the other men on the force now saw her as the enemy for violating the code of the Brotherhood.
