A tiny hummingbird loves living in San Miguel de Allende, with all the happy celebrations and beautiful flowers, . He falls in love with a beautiful girlybird and they get married high in a fragrant, purple Jacaranda Tree. During the wedding, the birds singing stimulate his interest in music. He and his bride make a nest and put two tiny eggs in it. He is not able to pursue his passion for music, as he is too busy collecting nectar for his babies. Once they fledge and can find their own food, he begins to attend concerts, slipping through the window of the concert hall and sitting on the curtain to observe the music. He discovers that his favorite music is not the classics or operas but Mariachi music. He and his wife go to Mariachi concerts in the Jardin (town square), where they delight in the various Mariachi groups. He brings his offspring to hear the free concerts. They love it and want to play the music. Both little ones chose the violin, his wife the trumpet, and he, guitar. They practice a lot, but have to find a singer, as they can only buzz and chirp. With much effort, the hummingbird family, along with the mocking bird, become a successful Mariachi band and make wonderful music together.
