Medieval: History of Viana de Foix and the Cathars

In the year 1209, Reynard prepares for his knighthood just as Pope Innocent III proclaims a crusade against Occitania to eradicate the Cathars. At a spring banquet, he meets Viana, who is to be his betrothed, but she arrives with her hair cut short and declares herself a Cathar. In September, Reynard must undertake a delicate mission: to cross war-torn Occitania and escort the beautiful niece of the Count of Empúries to Barcelona, where she is to marry the Baron of Cervelló. Along the way, youthful passions will clash with duty and honor. In November, Reynard receives a painful message-his friends and Viana are besieged in the castle of Montvert. He decides to join in their defense.
