The story continues from the perspective of Finnir, the illusionist that started it all. Finnir goes on a journey to right his wrong and repair a rift between worlds. When Reggie dies, the veil between the shadow realm and the natural realm becomes too weak and is split open, and Finnir is the natural world's only fighting chance against Roimhe. Finnir, though he has many allies, must go it alone. He meets Belic, a half-orc drunkard set on escaping from his own problems, and grows to be close friends with him. The two of them together make the long journey to pay the price of Finnir's error, but in the end Belic must be left behind. All alone, at least according to his knowledge, Finnir must suffer the pains of this realm and another.
